No Idea!

Technical Posted on Mon, September 17, 2018 16:38:45

I have no idea what appears to be happening to the blog. As I type right now everything seems fine but earlier on the layout, format and colours were all weird and it was giving me no option to add a new post. Perhaps it knows that it is likely I will only be keeping the site for another year due to rising costs! Something to keep an eye on though…technology is great when it works!

Website Charges

Technical Posted on Sun, August 05, 2018 16:52:54

I have renewed the website and this blog for another year through the provider. Unfortunately the cost seems to have tripled since last year.
I have queried the cost and it seems if I reduce certain functions on the website there will be a smaller cost – makes sense. I have asked them to do this, hopefully the reduction will be a decent amount. It may be that from August next year I make the sad decision to close down the site and blog. The blog is really the only thing that gets updated and I seem to have less time to do it. Plus all sales are through Redbubble or Lulu. Anyway, no definite decisions made as yet, just keeping you dear Readers updated.
Thanks!

Premium Upgrade and Home Page Changes

Technical Posted on Mon, January 29, 2018 09:45:32

Here’s a rare thing – a technical update!

I have had the opportunity to upgrade my website to ‘premium’
as per an offer sent to me by the site provider. I have to be honest I don’t
really know what this means but they had me at ‘better defined images’ as
anything that increases the appeal of my photography works fine for me.

Regular visitors to the site will notice that the slideshow
on the Home Page is now showcasing 5 different images. The only image that
remains unchanged is the welsh landscape. The new images include a Sparrowhawk,
a brown bear and a night-time shot of Witley Court. I have also added, top right, a note of when
the website was last updated. Personally I find it worrying when I go to a site
where I cannot see how current the information is or when it appears that the
last update was several years ago. How can you tell if these people are still
in business? People should be able to see how ‘active’ the site is by the dates
on this blog but I am aware not everyone comes here.

The Gallery is currently showing 10 images, 6 of which are
new to this page, all available to purchase through the Redbubble site. The
link is here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/creativeem

I am considering
the following changes: New colours to the site because I like the idea of
people returning to the site and going ‘Woah, that’s new,’ and also the removal
of the ‘Crafts’ tab. I am not making crafts at the moment and haven’t done for
some time. It seems a little silly to me to have a link that leads through to a
blank Etsy page. As with most things in life I haven’t made up my mind yet.
Thoughts and suggestions are welcome from other people.

Colours and Images Updated

Technical Posted on Fri, December 23, 2016 10:33:06

It’s been around 6 months since I have refreshed the website content. Today I have changed the background colours and several of the gallery images. I have also changed some of the images on the front page slideshow. As usual there were a few more alterations that I would like to make but my laptop and internet have other ideas! Still, something is better than nothing! Please take a look when you can,

Net Access Update

Technical Posted on Sun, August 14, 2016 10:04:19

Believe it or not I am still without proper internet access. Despite Virgin Media telling us everything would be in place before today (August 12th) all they’ve done is manage to dig up the road rather badly to install something which was already there in the first place and then give us a lot of inconsistent information. I’m now told it will be another 8 weeks. Here’s hoping they buck their ideas up or BT or Sky can offer a better and quicker service. The thought of not being able to upload any new photos or art until mid-October really does make me shiver. On the bright side I have plenty of things already available for people to browse and buy online. Please take a look at www.creativeemyoung.com

Many thanks

Hopefully online properly soon

Technical Posted on Tue, August 02, 2016 14:31:04

I shall hopefully be back online properly within the next few days, assuming Virgin Media or whoever they are do what they say and get cables sorted within the week.

In the meantime please check out my main website: www.creativeemyoung.com
And also my redbubble page: www.redbubble.com/people/creativeem

Many thanks

July 22nd-August 12th

Technical Posted on Mon, July 18, 2016 21:03:20

I am due to be without internet access for approximately 3 weeks due to a Sky/Virgin Media/BT broadband change. Yes, you’re right, I don’t really have a clue what’s happening but I’ve been told 3 weeks so I’m telling everyone else the same! I might be able to log on occasionally using the data on my phone or at an internet café but if I’m quiet for a few weeks this is why. I do not intend to abandon my creativity, my followers or my creatively minded friends. Hope you all stay happy and healthy during this time.

New Gallery Images

Technical Posted on Sun, May 29, 2016 18:05:37

Today I have changed 4 images on the website gallery. This is the first time I have changed these images since the website opened (late 2015). The new images include one that was only uploaded to Redbubble earlier today and the other 3 are much more recent than some of the others that they replaced. I am trying to demonstrate a range of skills and topics in the images I show in the gallery, for example flowers, people, animals, buildings. I feel it’s important to keep the website fresh…. but I feel changing things too frequently just makes me look like I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. Then again that could just be my insecurities!
