I could have put this under the ‘Technical’ section really but opted for this one…I’m back online, I now have working internet, broadband and Wi-Fi, woo hoo! Everyone celebrate!

Thanks

Welcome (again!)

Welcome: Open For Business Posted on Wed, December 30, 2015 13:56:54

Welcome one and all! I say welcome ‘again’ because I am now starting to openly promote the website as planned now that it’s all up and running.

So, how did we get here? Well, after several years of debating about and wanting a website I finally took the plunge a few months ago and registered a domain name. I would like to thank those people who continually encouraged me to do so.

On October 3rd my website www.CreativeEmYoung.com was officially ‘published’ (or let loose on the world if you prefer) although the site remained under construction. I’ll happily admit I’m not a technical person so things that would take most people 10 minutes took me several hours. For this reason I decided not to actively promote the site until all the pages were completed. Also, I’ll be honest, I really did want to do it all myself. I was reluctant to call in others to set things up for me. I wasn’t sure I could create my website solo but with perseverance it was possible…and here we are. Another of my visions is out in the world.

I hope to be blogging regularly and I intend to change the gallery pictures a few times during the next 12 months to keep it fresh.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you like what you see.

I wish you all the best for 2016,

CreativeEm

Google Search

Welcome: Open For Business Posted on Tue, October 06, 2015 21:36:03

It seems that you learn something new every day. What I’ve learnt today is that new websites don’t automatically appear on Google search.

Apparently to appear on Google can take anywhere between 4 days and 4 weeks. Sometimes you have to have tag words or pay people to get noticed. I’m aware I’m showing my naivety here. I just assumed these sort of things just happened instantly with the magic internet wand when you published a site. I know a few people with their own webpages and I’ve never struggled to find them through Google. However at the moment I must accept that people will struggle to find www.CreativeEmYoung.com. As the site remains under construction I don’t feel too badly about this right now. I’d rather the majority of people saw it when it’s completed. Plus, let’s put things into perspective here, the site only went live a couple of days ago!

What I find interesting though (and partly infuriating) is that although people can’t seem to find my website they seem to be able to find me to try and sell me things easily enough! It’s amazing how many people want my money via email, text, advertising and post. I try not to be too harsh. After all I’m doing exactly the same thing right now. I’m reminding people about my products as the festive season approaches, just little texts, postcards and emails to say ‘Hey I’m here, don’t forget about me!’

One of the reasons for the creation of www.CreativeEmYoung.com is so people can find the majority of my creativity in one place. Currently people are heading to several different sites. Hopefully going forward people will know they can go to one place and happily click through to see what they want whether it’s photography, digital art or crafts. Getting noticed and being remembered is difficult in today’s society. I just hope Google finds my creative hub soon. I find tears make it difficult to see what I’m working on….

First Post

Welcome: Open For Business Posted on Sun, October 04, 2015 14:51:51

Hi there! Welcome to my first post on my first blog!

So, how did we get here? Well, after several years of debating about and wanting a website I finally took the plunge a couple of months ago and registered a domain name. I’ve been creating the site a little bit each day since then.

On October 3rd my site www.CreativeEmYoung.com was officially ‘published’ (or let lose on the world if you prefer) although the site remains under construction. I’ll happily admit I’m not a technical person so things that would take most people 10 minutes take me several hours. For this reason I’m not actively promoting the site until all the pages are completed. I feel this page and the Gallery still need some work. But if you’ve stumbled across me at this stage I hope you like what you see.

Please know that I’m still learning. I’m attempting to turn frogs into Princes and this takes time. I intend to update this blog frequently so I hope you come back soon!

Thank you for your time
